The Oratory Birmingham Wedding - Helen & Chris

Wow what a stunning location the Oratory in Birmingham was, such a grand venue to get married in and what a fantastic service, emotional, joyous and beautiful. It was such a pleasure to work with Helen and Chris, they have a wonderful family and its clear that family means so much to them both. Great reception and party afterwards at Hagley Hall and always a pleasure to work alongside the very talented Richard from Enlight Wedding Photography.

Interesting fact! The first Oratory was founded in Rome in the sixteenth century by St  Philip Neri to serve the daily religious needs of people who came to him seeking spiritual direction. He gathered together around  him many souls from all walks of life whom he helped as confessor and guide. As  the numbers of his penitents increased, he and some of his collaborators were  ordained as priests, and from this developed the Congregation of the Oratory.

Its kind of humbling to be part of something so special and as the events unfold we realise the importance of the ceremony and blessing in the Oratory, it is without doubt a spectacular venue steeped in history with exceptional architecture and a real sense of grandure. We have been very lucky to have filmed in many loactions accross the UK, some of the most beautiful parts of England you could wish to visit, from the Lake district to Cornwall. I have to say though that The Oratory in Birmingham is one of the most spectacular places we have filmed and really is a filmakers dream. If you are planning a wedding there or just visiting I can highly recomend it.

On the flipside Hagley Hall is eqaully special and worked great as a reception venue for Helen and Chris, it is an exclusive Georgian Palladian Mansion and Tte versatility of the Hall means you can choose to have a civil ceremony and reception there if you wish. Hagley Hall provides a second to none location with warm friendly hospitality and fine dining, all designed to enhance the magic of your wedding day, whether it’s a civil ceremony, wedding breakfast or both. Some of my favorite features were the staircase, the lovely dinning room and the grounds are just exceptional with lots of space for photographs or letting teh chioldren run around and play while your guests relax and enjoy themselves.

All in all it was a fantastic day and evening and I hope you enjoy the little highlight we put together.
